Must 800,000 Baht Be Completely Segregated In A Distinct Account ?

Recommended Posts

After almost one yr. on a Retirement Visa, I will be doing my first annual renewal soon. I will be using the 800,000 baht "money in the bank" method. I am aware of the requirement for the three month seasoning period. My question is this: Can I use the same bank account to meet the seasoning requirement, and for periodic withdrawal for ordinary, ongoing expenses ? (Ensuring, of course, that the balance therein never falls below 800,000 baht.) Or does the the 800,000 baht have to be segregated in an account which is left completely untouched for the duration of the three month period ?

I have had my 400.000 baht (marriage) in a ordinary account.

Withdrawing and depositing money but never had it slip under 400.000 bath.

This year I opened a new account where I don't do any transactions.

I got bored about having to copy every page in bankbook and signing them. <_<

As long as kept above 800k it is fine and expected to be used.

Thanks. Your reply seemed like the only logical one, but I never want to assume that Thai Immigration's logic is the same as mine.
