Hi,

I think this has been asked before but has never been properly answered by the people concerned.

Today, I got word that the ministry of education refused issuing me a visa extension letter as I am 'too close to the expiry of my visa'. It seems I haven't been to school for one or two weeks so I was there too late to sign the documents.

My visa expired today and I am now on a 7-day extension. I really don't think the new letter would come through within 7 days, so I think I will have to leave the country.

My question is: Will I be able to obtain a re-entry permit? I can't obtain a new visa outside the country cause my passport is full. There is a big USED stamp over the visa, but I think multiple entry visa holders can just leave every 90 days and never worry about the documentation from school, right? So am I right by thinking that a multiple re-entry permit would (technically) convert my single entry into multiple entry?

Please advise... I'm a bit stuck here :/

If your visa has expired and you are on an extension, why do you need a re-entry permit. You have to leave in 7 days are be on overstay. Please look at your post again it really doesn't make any sense what you are asking for, at least to me.

No, that is not right. A re-entry permit keeps your current permission to stay alive. For example, if your seven-day extension allows you to stay until 28 June, a re-entry permit would, if you to travel abroad, ie outside Thailand, and return to Thailand before 28 June, alert the immigration official to give you permission to stay again until 28 June. Obviously, this is not practical in your case since -- depending on your nationality -- an entry without a re-entry permit would give you a new permission to stay for 15 days if you enter on a land border, 30 days by air.

Thanks guys,

makes sense. Seems I have to leave the country and get a new visa and apply for a new passport too (my old one is full). Can't believe they are charging 161 euros (230$) for a bloody passport -.-.

It is a German passport and even though it's only 32 pages and there seems to be a piece of plastic to attach more pages you're not allowed have any extra pages added :/
