You are pretty much looking at beach (Bangtao) and golf (Laguna).

Not too far away in Kamala is Fantasea, not sure if they run the show all year around or not.

Other than that you for sure have chosen a quiet part of the island, especially this time of year.

Regarding your other thread on islands nearby, due to stormy seas, accessing some of the islands people are recommending could get tricky, possibly dangerous, best to go ground to Koh Lanta. If the weather is nice, from there then go on to Koh Lipe.

if you are staying within laguna phuket, which resort are you staying at? each different resort within the complex tends to have different activities going on this time of year. bang tao does host a gorgeous beach, and you can always golf at the laguna phuket golf club.

there are a few restaurants on the outskirts of laguna phuket that are worth trying--the black cat, pesto, the sandwich shoppe (for a deli snack or breakfast) and also baan suan layan.

there's a little reggae bar on the beach in front of the banyan tree resort. the bar isn't affiliated with the laguna phuket complex at all, and it's a nice place to sit and chill. for other activities, i would suggest you get away from this area as it's very, very quiet this time of year.

thanks for the replies we are staying at the laguna beach resort phuket we have never been there

but allthe reviews of the hotel were very good we will be renting a car so we will be able to travel so i guess that is not such a big deal we just wanted a nice beach and nice resort i hope it will be that

LBR is a nice hotel; they've got a nice, big swimming pool and fast access to the beach. LBR tends to have many in-house activities on a daily basis including batik making, sailing, and a cooking class (i think). they have a decent lobby bar with live music most nights. keep in my mind that anything within the laguna phuket resort complex will cost more than on the outside...it's great you are renting a car! take a tour to some of the northern beaches-mai khao, nai yang and naithon. there is a big local market at the entrance to laguna phuket a few nights a week that is always fun. you are close enough to patong for shopping and fun, etc. enjoy your stay!

Bang Tao is a beautiful beach, long and sandy and this time of year you might have the beach to yourself! I'd recommend going up to the northern part, which is very peaceful, or over to Layan beach. Swimming could be dangerous, however, so you may be confined to the sands on some days. There are tons of great restaurants in the area, too, mainly on the road leading to Laguna: Siam Supper Club is fantastic, Tatonka, BAKE, Woody's Bakery, Black Cat. Lots of shops along there too, mostly furniture & antiques. A lot of people go to Lotus restaurant in the evenings, directly on the sands near Banyan Tree - fresh seafood selected live from tanks.

Not sure if you have kids but Laguna is putting on a family fun festival now till the end of August, where the kids can enjoy games and sports activities. Lots of small massage places (and probably massage ladies on the beach, too) or if you want to splash out try the Banyan Tree spa.

Your resort will of course offer you tons of activities to try: speedboat trips, kayaking in Phang Nga Bay, tours of Old Phuket Town, etc....

Enjoy your trip! The weather is gorgeous at the moment, hope it stays that way for your visit.
