Eventually, unwilling to endure further assaults, she chose to resign and share her story with local media in the hope of preventing others from experiencing the same fate. Comments emerged, questioning her rationale for staying after the initial assault and her decision not to involve law enforcement. One netizen asked, “Why didn’t you report this to the police?” while another wondered why she believed compliance was her only option when multiple jobs are available in Patong. Conversely, others showed empathy, suggesting that the psychological impact and fear of dismissal might have deterred her from speaking out sooner.
