Amazing Thailand!

Featured Replies

thanx to all that sent info for a friend of mine planning two week vacat. in thailand....

he went rather reluctantly (!!!) w/personal food supply (!!!), but :

1/ was in bangkok during rain, thought it was smelly and hideaous and there were rats, but....

2. went to islands for most of time after cancelling chiang mai due to floods and he says:......stayed in good hotels (sorry didnt catch name)

"it was incredible/amazing"-- a translation of a single hebrew word 'madhim' -- he works in tourism here in israel and was amazed by the service and the pleasantness of the people working in the hotels/restauraunts etc even after dealing with some 'ugly customers' in situations in which any israeli tourist worker would have been snarling in anger

3. liked the slow pace of the islands

4. enjoyed the shopping reccommended by the folks here

5. actually enjoyed hearing what must be (in my guess) luuk toong music-- maybe siriporn or other woman singers-- not rock n roll and not classic thai...

6. says that there were too many other israelis around :o --touche!

7. and only ate in israeli style restauraunts (ugh!!! i say)

8. and that all the info i passed on from here, plus actually knowing some thai guys (our workers) and learning from me the " no yelling", 'dont be stingy as an israeli tourist typically is' and 'dont be sloppy' maxims all made his stay much more pleasant than it could have been had he behaved as a typical morroccan israeli 'jai ron'....

many thanks once again

"it was incredible/amazing"

Happy to hear of another satisfied tourist in Thailand.

Being a little prepared, knowing what to expect, can make a lot of difference, as this example shows.

And thank you, Bina, for having taken the trouble to do the research and prepare your friend for his trip!

Now, if you haven’t done so yet, you, too, should visit Thailand :o

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

..It's hard not to be "satisfied tourists" if you travel to Thailand!!!!!
