Actually, if the date stamped into your passport is not good enough and you do want to use a computer, MS-Excel works great.

I looked at the calculator and I see that it can be used for Thailand because the arrival stamp shows both the arrival date and the end date of the permission to stay. With this information, it calculates how many days I am allowed to stay in Thailand or, more precisely, how many nights. Now I have to figure out what possible use I could make of this information.
