Can anyone tell me which is the best visa to get to be able to live in Thailand,'Legally" without a lot of stress, i am 52 years old not married to a thai girl and will have 60,000tbt / month to live on, with some backup.

O-A retirement visa obtained in your home country. Later annual extensions based on retirement.

Option to start in the retirement extension system without using an O-A.

Depends what you mean by "some back up". 60,000 Baht a month will leave you a tad short of the monthly requirement of 65,000 Baht required for an extension of stay, you can show a cash deposit in a bank in Thailand to make up the difference.

And yes, this might have got more advice in the section that deals with visas in Thailand.
