The sad thing is the Thais believe this rubbish.

Bangkok is a great city in many ways, but decades behind hundreds of other cities the World over in manners, pollution, organisation and standard of living.

The average Thai would not care anyhow, unless he/she personally instantly benefitted from it.

Personally I love Bangkok.

I asked a few months back about a fit to fly certificate for my (now 95 years young) neighbour. Sadly, due to his age and failing health, a realisation has set in, for him and his family, that staying here for his final days may be his better option.
