Superbikethailand Day Trip To Chaiyaphum

Featured Replies

After a brilliant track day on Saturday it was tough to wake up at 4am to meet the Superbikethailand club for their ride to Chaiyaphum, but I'm glad I did as it was a fantastic day!

Diverse mix of bikes from Ninjette 250s all the way up to a Hayabusa with a lot of Kawa 650's in the middle, a nice Gixxer K9, couple of REAL CBR 1000s, BMW F800GS, etc

Gas stop somewhere near Lopburi-

We then proceeded to Pa Hin Ngam National Park-

More bikes kept joining us and the group kept growing in size-

Pa Hin Ngam is famous for it's views-

And for fields of mountain flowers and odd rock formations-

Nice and cool up here looking out over vast forests and a sea of clouds-

The park is huge but fortunately you can hire some transportation-

We had lunch at Pa Hin Ngam and then rode down the mountain to meet up with some more guys-

Nice Gixxer K9

Next stop- Sai Tong National Park!

Here we are at the entrance to Sai Thong National Park-

The road in was a bit challenging and I was feeling fortunate that I was on the Versys-

Everyone made it in one piece!

Because of the difficult access road this park was rather deserted and we pretty much had the place all to ourselves-

Nice little restaurant with a big cooler full of cold drinks so we grabbed some water and set off on a 3 km hike to the Pha Hum Hod viewpoint-

Wow- what a spot!

The hike took us through fields of the same flowers we saw in Pa Hin Ngam National Park-

We didn't leave the park until close to 5PM and I got home exhausted but exhilarated around 9PM! Talk about a FULL DAY ride!

Thanks for a fantastic trip Superbikethailand!

This one is kinda funny- the bike best suited to these conditions is the one that had the most trouble ;)

it was tough to wake up at 4am

Usually why I don't get motivated to even attempt joining in.laugh.gif

Heh heh, I hear ya, I am NOT a morning person, but these rides are such a blast that I do my best to join whenever I can.

Next big trip is camping on the beach in Prachuap Kiri Khan the weekend of the 23rd-

Should be a blast!

Ride On!

What's the average cruising speed and how far between fill ups?

What's the average cruising speed and how far between fill ups?

These rides are usually pretty well organized with fuel stops pre-planned to accommodate whoever has the shortest range.

Some guys blast off at the front and some guys cruise along at the back.

There is always a support vehicle or two and a sweeper at the back to make sure no one gets left behind.

Ok I start looking for fuel after about 180kms. But the 4 AM is still a bigger concern.laugh.gif
