I'm 49 the GF is 24. I'm planning on keeping liquid assets in the States.....only transfer money to LOS as needed. Also, I will only rent.......I think perhaps here in Udon Thani as the GF's family is about 2 hours drive away from downtown. Most importantly......the GF knows I am not crazy about marriage.....I've told her perhaps we will never marry.....she seems okay with this. I'm going to buy a new car in my name.

With the above approach; how can I be burned if the relationship goes sour?

ps - I am VERY happy with the GF; I don't anticipate a break-up. I'm not the type to need different women all the time; the GF satisfies me in every way. Her English is 80% or so and we enjoy each others company......not just in the sack.
