Where To Buy Lampshades?

Featured Replies

I am looking to replace some old lampshades. I can find places that sell lamps and shades together etc, but I just want to buy the shades. Do any of you know anywhere that sells just the shades please?

Without some vague kind of idea of what you are on about you can expect no useful replies.

Any clues in the offering or do we all just shout TESCO?

(What time of night is it . . . ?)

There used to be a lamp shop just past Tescos on the left going towards the Chaweng post office.

Don't see what Rob's difficulty is, seems a perfectly valid question.

I also need to buy some more shades but not the lamps.

I was looking a while back. The electrical shop opposite Samui Town Center on the ring road had a couple. And I mean a couple! Also the shop on the left heading towards Maenam after Bophut. Forget the name .... sells electrical stuff .... brow of the hill just after the corner, maybe after Anantara (?). Again, they had a couple.

Sorry - I misunderstood! I had it in mind that some particular type was needed as there are several places that just do the shades, Home Pro, I think, plus the one in Mae Nam that I can never remember the name of (HOME something). Plus Supot electrical has a big range, as mentioned.

ps - you might find that when you check the prices that there's hardly any difference between buying a lamp with shade and just the shade by itself? I was looking for a PIR movement switch that then would turn on a security light. The switches were around 800 baht. But for 550 baht I could buy a lamp with 300w halogen bulb PLUS built-in PIR (from the same shop).

Well - first marks go to Supot Electric.

For those of you that understand the apparel business -

They had one style, one colour and two sizes. Total stock - two lampshades.

The quest continues.

Hmmmm .... had 3 last time I was in ..... must have had a rush order?

HomePro sells pennant type lamp shades ..... some can be turned upside down to make ordinary table lamp type shades. Lateral thinking .... and desperation!

If the frames are still in good condition you could also look into getting them recovered.

Heard that Surat Baansuy (curtain place in Bophut)may do this.

Might be worth checking out.

I know this is not too much help for you but the only place I have every seen is Chatuchak Market in Bangkok. In the past I have bought many shades and sizes there
