Chuvit Slams Police For Delayed Action Against Gambling Den

Many cynical comments as to why he has changed from a bad guy to a good guy, but there is a simple explanation. As you get older you develop a social conscience, I know I did. I spent my younger years on the wrong side of the law, now I am very much on the right side. I must admit it is easier to cross over if you have money.

Could PTP be regretting allowing his little party into coalition?

They haven't - he is an independent and has not joined with any party - so no regrets required!!!!

Actually, there is no such thing as "an independent" in Thailand. All MPs have to be a member of a party.

Chuwit's "Love Thailand" party has 4 MPs and are in opposition - which is what they said they would do in the election campaigning, regardless of the result.

I do not believe that he is in the coalition.

He campaigned on being in the opposition no matter which party won formed the government. Good to have someone like this around

You are correct in your assumption that his 'love party' is in opposition and he must be a member of a party to enter parliament. I think that he describes himself as an independent because he has no true and direct affiliation with any party or faction and votes and acts accordingly, as to his feelings and position on individual issues. Hence he has an independent stance in parliament

Isn't this the guy that built an illegal brothel empire and got mega rich from it only because the police closed their eyes.

Yea, I don't get it either. What is the difference? Illegal brothel or illegal casinos.

Amazing Thailand.

No.

This is the guy who built up a legitimate massage parlour business empire that the police and others drove their dirtyhands into for cash pay-outs for "protection and safety", who then , after years of paying these scum, sold up, quit the business and entered politics to fight corruption and the circus of pantomime performers who make a joke of politics.

Sure, and he paid 300.000 Baht a month to the police because nothing illegal was going on behind the doors :whistling:

I'll try to put it into perspective.

Chuwit operated a string of massage parlors, quite up front and fully visible to the public. Clients paid a fee to these establishments to take a bath with a female who took care of clients / members. Most left very satisfied after voluntarily paying a fee.

Now we move to the government (parliament) where members’ (of parliament) sole purpose is to ensure the public take a bath while said members enrich themselves. Most people feel dissatisfied after being forced to pay a fee (taxes).

Chuwit’s business gave satisfaction to its clients. The government doesn’t.

Who are the police scared of?.....Nobody

why did they close this casino and empty it?....Because they are scared of the law?....I don't think so.

The police are the law and above everyone.

They could have left the casino operating and told Khun Chuvit and the media to piss off if they don't like what they see, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

I think you have your facts wrong. The police did not close and empty any casino. They took three days to show up and by the time thy got there, the casino was closed already and the building was empty. The police could not ignore Mr, Chuwit's claim as to be seen as not doing your duty is a loss of face. I'm going to have to disagree with everything you wrote in this post.

Are you criticizing only the current PTP-led government for not giving satisfaction to its 'clients' after forcing them to 'pay a fee', or the thousands of governments all over the world which for the past few centuries have mainly served their clients in a similarly 'unsatisfactory' way?

indeed he is: http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/asia-pacific/thailand/110702/sex-king-anti-corruption-elections-thailand

Maybe he had an epiphany when he became an MP. Hopefully his motives are as he says, help fight corruption.

But honesty and integrity must start from the top as well as from parents and teachers demanding their children have honesty and integrity. Only then will society start to change.

Everyone must do their part to improve society, do their best in school, do their best at their job, public and private sectors included. That goes for tourists, too.

Yes. He's also the guy who bought a plot of land on Sukhumvit Road; the finance company who sold it to him had also sold 30-year leases to dozens of people who had opened small shops and who were reluctant to give up their leases. K. Chuwit solved his problem by bringing in a gang of "workmen" who supposedly included a number of off-duty soldiers and military police, and demolishing all the shops before daylight. Prime Minister Thaksin was reportedly furious, and the end result was Chuwit donating the land to the municipality as Queen Sirikit Park (if that's the right name) and Chuwit's entry into politics.

I have to admit that despite his obvious criminality I rather like Chuwit. I also like Police Captain Chalerm, even though he's a known extortionist and protection racketeer. Both men take good care of their constituents and provide entertaining revelations like this. I rather miss the days when Chalerm would promise to reveal evidence of some politician's corruption, and then after he got what he wanted the matter was forgotten. I have no doubt both men know to the millimeter how far they can go and not get punished.

Why this chuwit who made a fortune peddling sex in massage parlours didn't raise the casinos issues during the last government tenure....why only now..

When you get a collection of fools in government, who think they have absolute power, they think they can get away with murder, say anything, and totally corrupt, they are so stupid to bash other corrupt establishments --What is the new suggested slogan......................Miracle Thailand.........

Chuwits exposure of the police owned casino is in the interests of PTP replacing the top police with (Taksins) family member. Who really know if Chuwit gained anything or not behind closed doors, maybe a favor? maybe some annuity ?

Police fear loss of face and fear bigger guns as in military.

Me thinks he dost protest too much. He's looking like a PTP facilitator in all this, as Chalerm pounced on this case like no Thai I've ever seen. I could be wrong, but that's sure how it looks.
