IS THERE A COMPANY IN CHIANG MAI WHO WILL SUPPLY AND INSTALL PVC WINDOWS AND DOORS ?

I am looking for something stronger than the usual Thai cheap and nasty thin aluminum product .

On route 3029 between Sansai and Meechok Plaza on the way to Sansai intersection. About 500/600 metres on the left hand side, coming from from the Meechok Plaza intersection, where there are about 6 shops. There is one shop which has 4 or 5 large vertical signs about 20 meters in to the air. The next shop do a variety of PVC windows/ doors etc and are quite reasonable.

They also supply a good repair service for existing installations. Chok Di

There's an outfit in Phuket that sells some of the best quality double glazed UPVC units I've seen anywhere, I don't recall their name but perhaps someone in the Phuket forum can assist - they're often displayed at Homeworks mall at Central? The units are very much top end and come with an associated guarantee from Alliance Insurance that provide property theft/break in insurance up to 1 mill baht, included in the purchase price. I have no idea of costs but the units are very high quality.

I went to Noppadol Panich on Superhighway road many years ago and ask the price of PVC/Vinyl windows and doors but the price is expensive, may be cause of dubble glass and in that time those product just come out in the market not long yet and now may be much cheaper than before.

On the road No.107 the way to Maerim on the right side if you go direction to Maerim , I think 3-4 km. before traffic light where can turn right to San Sai or Mae Jo, there is a shop that you can ask them to make in the side what you want and the price much cheaper , they will come to your house and measure the right size of window and door then make and install it.

So going from meechoke to Sansai its 600 meters up on the left ?

I live in San Sai so that would be handy .

Yes, check them out. I hope that they can help you. :-)

If this information is found I would like to know.. Looking at a decent build next year and am in the process of gathering as much data right now on the sort of fixtures and fittings I want to spec. Thats not so easy in thailand to find all the items of quality.

The aluminum ones come in various weights, the heaviest being quite strong. The larger shops have or can easily get the heavy weight aluminum.

Check out Homeworks opposite Central Mall, they have a permanent display there and the guy running the stand/shop speaks excellent English.

Just a few blocks north of the old municipal stadium in the Chang Peuak area is the local outlet for Windsor pvc windows and doors. They make a very nice-looking product. Wikimapia link here.

By Central Mall do you mean Central Airport Plaza? And by opposite do you mean in Hang Dong or Mahidol Rd?

Very late in reply but I refer to Phuket, if you read the thread carefully!

I'm not a great fan of uPVC window systems in general as the coloring goes yellow after about 3 years, and the hardware is sometimes questionable and a poor quality product made in China. The problem with aluminium windows is that there is absolutely no quality standards and you're quite likely to end up with a very average product with poor quality hardware and ultra thin aluminium profiles if you dont know what to look for. Timber windows have problems with longetivity, as it is more often than not made from poor quality wood and not properly sealed or seasoned.

I am in the middle of a project involving the removal of 3 year old timber windows and replacing them with new windows. The product that I am using is a high performance aluminium system from New Zealand called Fletcher Aluminium. Fortunately, Fletcher now extrude their profiles in Thailand but their seals, gaskets and hardware all come from New Zealand. By high performance, I mean design and engineering features like door panel sizes of 3.5m high x 2.5m wide, dual extrusion seals and gaskets that are designed to last a lifetime, a clean sill design that prevent dirt and debris from catching inside the channels, and some of the world's best bifold (sliding folding) door systems I have ever worked with!

Their prices are not the cheapest, but hey, doors and windows for homes are supposed to last a lifetime! Oh, and another fantastic service that they offer is a free 2 year maintenance program where they come and check your windows after 6 months, 12 months and then 2 years. As a builder, my life has been made soo much easier by using these guys. The GM is from Europe, I believe, so English communitcation is not an issue..Contact them and see how you go.
