Red-shirt MP Claims Attempt to Overthrow Govt

A red-shirt MP has claimed that there is an attempt to overthrow the Yingluck administration and affirmed that this has nothing to do with the Monarchy.

He has also urged the government to speed up implementing its promised policies.

Pheu Thai party-list MP Jatuporn Promphan claimed there is an attempt to overthrow the Yingluck Shinawatra government.

He alleged the movement is led by the same group which brought down the Thaksin Shinawatra, Samak Sundaravej and Somchai Wongsawat administrations.

Jatuporn claimed that the group consists of politicians and those who have power above the law.

The red-shirt MP said, however, that the movement has no links to the Monarchy and there will be more clarity about this effort in December.

He also urged the government to speed up implementing the policies it promised during the election campaigning, such as the minimum wage hike and salary rise for civil servants as well as other plans to prove the efficiency of the government and prevent it from being overthrown too easily.

Who is above the law?

It can't be Prem, because he has links to the Monarchy.

It can't be Sondhi, because he lost many cases in court so not above the law.

it can't be Sonti, because he is a coalition partner.

Is it Thaksin??? No links to the Monarchy and above the law?

He's like one of those dolls where you pull the string and they can say about four different things, though "there will be a coup" seems to come out most of the time. Let's hope he's got it right this time.

Actually, Thai law doesn't allow me to post what I really think, but you can see by a process of elimination who he's talking about. A political force, not PTP and not the monarchy, which is at deaths door. Looks like an alliance between devils. Could the gambling debts really have been that high? Looks like mom's running the show now.

No, he's talking about the Democrats. Things would be a lot easier with no opposition party don't you know.

He doesn't need facts he just knows he needs innuendo that keeps his assault thugs on point. Accusation to increase distrust and keep the fervor of 'us against them' up and at fever pitch.

If there was such a fill tilt conspiracy he'd be one of the first targets, hands down. He also makes implied accusations that contradict themselves.

When i read the headline, i thought it was going to be about Jatuporn's own attempt last year, to bring down a government by force. It was obviously an acceptable practice in his eyes then. Wonder what has changed... oh yes, now he is in power, such methods are to be condemned.

Yes Animatic, an idiotic buffoon likes of Jutaporn does not warrant a reply... he has an IQ of about 10..... but his mother loves him..

Hypocrisy coupled to irony,

together of monumental proportions and hubristic import.

Well not really on Mom, she told him to stop acting so rude a few years back... He has not pleased his old Surat Thani mother, in her own words..

Actually she doesn't, and is one of his most outspoken critics.

More aptly he's got the kind of a mouth his own mother can't love.

Well, he said politicians. Anyway, I hope he's finally got it right for once.

The physical size of the man nor his mouth seem to have been reduced by his time in jail. He has told so many porkies during past press releases, etc, that he deserves a personal "ignore" rider to be incorporated in the proposed new constitution.

Its too bad that his family did not incorporate the 'down home' punishment for lying at a young age. Wash the offenders mouth out with soap. Maybe they tried and he ate the soap.

These 'shadowy hand' allegations are rather tiresome.

I agree rather tiresome but sorry to say no smoke without fire. Thaksin tried to have him arrested on the night of the last coup (read the cables wikileaks). Its futile to refute them cables because the American gov is not. And theres 1 other cable that implicates him and others on LM charges. Maybe Thaksin is keeping that one for later use. Unfortunately it is tiring but it will go on being tiring because who is going to be brave enough to investigate a man in his position

Again? Will this be like all those other times that he predicted it?

The only ones that could be above the law, and not be the monarchy, would be the army.

Wrong there is one position between the monarchy and the army which is neither. Who do the elites go to when they dont like what a gov is doing. They dont go straight to the C in C, they go to the man in the middle and he calls the C in C to get the army out. Please dont be naieve (mispelt?) Only the in the full course of time will we really know how much power and influence this person asserted over Thai history

Basically, he can't help running his mouth but he's now become a bit prison-shy after his recent stint.

Thought his gait had altered slightly...

He alleged the movement is led by the same group which brought down the Thaksin Shinawatra, Samak Sundaravej and Somchai Wongsawat administrations
.

The group that brought down Thaksin was the Supreme Court. The group that brought down Samak and Somchai was the Constitution Court.

.

And both courts at that time were under the influence of one hard to see man. I think Jatuporn is saying that the attempt has not been initiated by the monarchy and the monarchy has nothing to do with any overthrow attempt. This does not rule out he who is invisible.

Well both cases ruled completely within the letter of the law as set out in the constitution.

It was insane to have a PM who was working on the side, we didn't see Thaksin working on the side for AIS did we (at least not by the letter of the law), and he was repeatedly warned, but he felt he was above the law; I guess having done nothing as BKK Governor for years, he didn't feel he had to actually do any work as PM.

As for vote buying, not all the people buying get caught, sure. But if you get caught, then expect the consequences and by the letter of the law in the constitution, a party executive is barred from politics to teach a lesson - don't provoke a fight if you can't handle getting a smack.

If people aren't required to follow the constitution in letter or in principle (as for instance occured with Thaksin's asset declaration where he should have been banned for 5 years but there was seemingly interference and a huge publicity campaign to try to get him off) or are not willing to follow the law of the country as leaders (as for instance occured when now Deputy PM Chalerm's son alledgedly committed murder at Club 20 with multiple witnesses at the time, and his father proudly aided and assisted a known fugitive to escape justice for 6 months; intimidated the press for daring to report what appeared to be the truth, and alledgedly ensured that witnesses changed their stories as required, and the son and himself have faced to date no real consequences as a result) then one must question how sincere any real efforts to reform the constitution are, other than to ensure the amnesty of one individual; to avoid any real discussion on this, why not just roll out the spectre of a coup again....

Much as I love him, Jatuporn is not a guy I would place much faith in; he has been caught out numerous times telling lives and mistruths; he has zero ethics, and here he has built up a nice little fairy tale and they swallow it hook line and sinker. Fortunately, the average IQ is below 100 in Thailand, and there are plenty of people willing to listen.

One of the few institutions that can be relied upon for the most part is the judiciary in Thailand; far more principles than the police, armed services or certainly the civil service or politicians. I don't think Jatuporn is attempting to attack them.

This is an obvious attack on their favourite target, because to their followers they don't dare attack the one they want to attack (Da Torpedo and Jakapop Penkair were cast aside after it obviously wasn't the way to go from a popularity perspective) and instead now they attack in code.
