September 11, 201114 yr Just thought of starting a topic for things that don't go quite right. Missus was 3 months pregnant (to me I assume) but had a miscarriage the other day. She's okay but our only son is rather sad.
September 11, 201114 yr Sorry about that, Bill, but sometimes it is nature's way of aborting a foetus when there is something wrong with it. It would be far worse if the baby went to term and was handicapped in some way.
September 11, 201114 yr Yeah bugger. Sorry Blinky. I know what it's like...my first born was a gift from above as we had had several miscarriages before she came along....and no successful pregnancies after her either. As Ian says....it may very well have been for the best. At least it was only 3 months. Somehow it's a bigger impact when the pregnancy goes on for longer and your hopes and expectations have grown. I hope you can console yourself, your wife, and your son. Edited September 11, 201114 yr by Harcourt
September 11, 201114 yr oh shit, sorry to her that Bill, but Ian did make a valid point that it was natures way keep strong and you will be blessed again very soon , a tear has been shed here, as it happened to me as well, but i still have no kids that i know of, you still have your healthy son to keep you going :jap:
September 11, 201114 yr Natures way , matey,to prevent many babies with faults Kia Kaha, stay staunch, you will succeed before too long. I have seen it happen and seen another successful pregnancy eventuate. Wish you both future luck.
September 11, 201114 yr Sorry to hear that BB Mrs. Rakers has had to have three abortions because of ectopic pregnancies. It's shit, very shit, but as others have already alluded to it's for the best.
September 11, 201114 yr Sorry to hear that BB, but it happens. We went through 2 of those, and the doc' always says it is for the best because something is NQR.
September 11, 201114 yr Author Hey, thanks everyone for the kind words. As it was we were with the specialist only the day before and the ultrasound indicated that things weren't right. The specialist wanted to do another test in 2 weeks to see if things were progressing and if not we would have taken some further measures to take care of the situation. It was only 26 hours after the visit to the doc that my wife miscarried, pretty scary. My wife and I both know that it wouldn't have happened if all was well so it was, as mentioned, nature's way of taking care of things. Thanks again to all. I didn't start this thread looking for sympathy. I thought it might a good one for just stating how sometimes we expect certain things to turn out one way but then you get a kick in the face and it turns out where the best comment could be, "Bugger".
September 12, 201114 yr What a helpful, descriptive topic heading (not). But commiserations over the loss...

September 12, 201114 yr Author We had another check with the specialist yesterday and all is okay with my wife. Women handle emotional and often physical situations better than most blokes. My wife is one of them. My 7 year old, Riki is now back trying to convince his new budgie to sit on his finger and I'm back in the bush (or wilds of Kalimantan) trying to provide funds for all concerned. Bugger!

Kalimantan - still have head-hunters, don't they? (And I don't mean employment agencies) Understand they started a Hash there in 1992, but the hares never finished the trail and most of the hounds went missing too. Couple of short-cutting bar stewards arrived back at the On In, drank all the beer and joined the Saigon Hash.
