Getting To Samui

Featured Replies

can forum members advise me of the best way to get to samui from bkk, i would prefer to fly to prevent too much time being wasted on travelling there....it would be a return trip the otehr alternative is it better to fly bkk to phuket and then go to samui from phuket..........all suggestions welcome being land option as well

i apologise in advance if this topic has been covered before, however i havent been able to find it anywhere.

cheers

Flying is the best and quickest way, but not the cheapest. Bangkok Airways has maybe a dozen flights every day to Samui and back from Bangkok. Thai Airways has 2 a day. Both about the same price.

Nok Air flies to Surat Thani and connects with a bus and ferry to Samui for a lot less. But takes a lot longer.

You can also get a bus. Costs less still. But takes even longer.

Walking would take forever.

You could take the overnight train as well. It depends upon your time availability.

Personally I prefer to fly even given the extra and somewhat ridiculous fares.
