Can anyone tell me what this fella is? He is about a metre long and is quite thin except halfway down where something is clearly digesting nicely. He has a very distinctive head but I have no expertise in the herpetology field.

I'm not a herpetologist either, though I had a son fascinated enough to become one, so I've done some reading up on critters around here. I'm far, far, far, from an expert though, but my guess would be a long-nose whip snake which are not dangerous for humans

He's not doing any harm and the neighbours are equally content to leave him be although they assure me he is 'very dangerous'
