Will be visiting Phuket end of this month and will be staying at the All Seasons Naiharn Hotel. Anybody familiar with this hotel and can or might suggest something about this place? Also can anybody recommend some nice restaurants to eat nearby, preferable on the beach or so. I am with my family of 4 adults and 3 children, so something children friendly would be nice. Any suggestions to make our stay there memorable will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing really to suggest at the hotel itself, you are in an excellent location and it is your typical Accor 3 star, comfortable and clean.

When heading out the front entrance head left, you will see a bit of a parking roundabout keep walking another 100meters and you have all kinds of Thai food restaurants on the beach. There is a bit of a park area there, grass and trees, shade, so if you can get a ball at one of the minimart/toy stores just adjacent to your hotel, let the kids kick the ball around there or on the beach while you relax with a leisurely beer and some appetizers.

Sunsets are good right now, the sun has moved out from behind the hill, you can take those in on the beach right in front of your hotel.

Enjoy.

There's an Italian place with decent pizza next door to it as well as several Thai food places just across from it as GOM mentioned. You can also eat at The Phuket Yacht Club/ Purnavarna (not sure what they are calling it now) they have good western food. I used to go there for the burger at the outdoor place right on the beach. Good area for a family to stay, no night life for the adults though. Also the sea can be dangerous this time of year, be careful. There are lifeguards on duty everyday and mark areas for swimming. Enjoy, it's a nice beach in a quiet area.

Thanks for the replies so far, sounds great already and I am sure we will enjoy. Think eating on the beach will be one of the highlights. Do you think it will be better to arrange for transport with the hotel, or can I book a mini bus or so with another - dependable - company?

Transportation in Phuket is a major issue! I'm not too sure if the hotel has transportation. Do they? If not, at least there isn't a tuk tuk mob out front, but there is a "black plate" taxi mob though. There are also some songtaews out front that are legal yellow plate transport. There are metered cabs only at the airport, to the right as you leave the building. They will charge you a flat rate usually though too. It should be about 500 Baht to Rawai/Nai Harn for a meter cab. Everywhere else you have to negotiate the price before you get in! From the airport, with as many people as you have, you may want to look around for a minibus. If he gives you a good price and is a good guy, get his number, you can use him on your return trip or possibly if you plan an outing. Good luck and stay calm...

The restaurants described to the left of the hotel on the beach are walkable, not far at all.

Your other transportation, you will need to arrange at the taxi stand in front of the hotel. Don't try and bring in your own or there could be trouble.

Recently some people tried to do this in the north part of the island outside Cape Sienna, they witnessed their private driver get a pretty good beating from the local taxi guys.

I'd PM you my personal guy, but I prefer he stays out of the hospital..............................
