I am looking for a place that makes clothes.

I don't need a suit or shirt. I am actually trying to get a pair of Cargo pants made.

I have a pair that can be used as a template, I just need a few pairs the same knocked up.(Same style and size, fit etc.) Does anyone know or have heard of such a place? or even better had any experience?

You don't need a tailor for cargo pants. Any dressmaker could do it. Ask around. Many laundry shops also have dressmaking services. They're a step above the street-side mending people and several steps below the expensive custom tailors.

If you want all cotton, be careful and give it the flame test. The last time that I had some made the vendors kept trying to sell me a cotton/poli blend while claiming that it was cotton.

Of course, things might have gotten better as that was quite a while ago.

So what area can you go to.

I use a Dressmaker near the Riverside Guest House, opposite the Iron Bridge.

Not far form the Narawatt Bridge.

Hope this is of help. :)

If you do go to a tailor, be prepared to pay more than you did for the originals. That was the case when I tried to have trousers copied at shops along Thapae and Chang Klan.

Okay. Ratchamanka Road. with your back to the Klong Thapae Gate side. Montri Hotel will be on your right

Travel up until the first Soi on your right. Turn right. About 25 metres or so there is a small tailors/clothes makers on your right. He has made trousers for me in the past. Not sure if he speaks a lot of English as I always had a girl from my office with me but I am sure that you can sort that. The point is he makes quality clothers and works very economical.

Good Luckll

You don't by any chance mean Ratchadamnoen Rd, do you?

Not only Ratchadamnoen, I'm curious if he's referring to the soi immediately behind the M Hotel (Montri), as that's how I'd expalain it, unless he means another one further up ???

Nah.

You are both correct. The Montri is on the next road down sorry to confuse. The hour was late and mellow. But apart rom that the directions are still good. My apoligies to all

I'm not sure if you would be interested in these, but if you go South from the Shangri la Hotel on Chang Klan road and look on your left hand side, you will see what used to be a department store called Season Plaza (I'm not sure if the sign is still there). If you pass the Empress Hotel, you have gone too far.

They sell already made all-cotton cargo shorts with an elastic, expandable waist in 3 different sizes that will fit almost anyone. They also have regular cargo pants that are not expandable.

As I recall, we discussed cargo shorts within a year's time, and Ulysses mentioned cargo shorts on sale at the above site (it is set back from the street with large cement area in front). I bought a pair of shorts and have used them regularly. V. good quality, and sturdy, as they have lasted through many washes. True all-cotton. Have yet to try for longer cargo pants there, but now that I think on it, Pantip Plaza, Butter is Better, and or Gecko Garden all live nearby.B) And all are high and dry now.

A while ago I tried to have my favorite pair of cargo pants copied at a Tailor's...

As they were a slightly complex cut with a few additional zips and tabs I figured it would take a good tailor to copy them.

No one I visited (in Bangkok) would do it (even when I offered B4000)...
