Pea Electricity Rates - Again!

Featured Replies

Before I go through the tortuous process of asking the PEA for an explanation -

Has anyone seen a new tariff for domestic electricity rates?

The PEA Web Site must be well out of date - it still shows

1.1.2 Consumption exceeding 150 KWh. per month 40.90

First 150 KWh. (0 - 150) 1.8047

Next 250 KWh. (151 - 400) 2.7781

Over 400 KWh. (401 - up) 2.9780

which used to be correct.

However, none of the bills we have received recently can be calculated using this tarif.

I am not referring to the changed negative surcharge figure but to the calculation of the NET charge before other add ons and vat.

Be grateful if you can receive government electricity. I cannot get it and I pay 5.7 baht per unit plus VAT from my local developer.

I am lucky - some developers charge LOTS more. (I have heard up to 29 baht per unit in one case!)

heard of this as well, but in some cases, it is not the developer charging, but the person who owns the land/cables that are sending the electric to the development, either way its WAY overpriced

I asked a good friend for the details. He is a very senior man in the PEA organisation.

I am pleased that I was able to assist you.

If you wish we can exchange email addresses for any future changes, should they occur.

I am UNSURE however, whether this forum allows me to give you my email address. SORRY for my ignorance in this regard.

Cheers, and take care

If you have a link to the current official PEA pricing structure, that would be great, I think mine is a few years old..

That is how I had the old one, in PDF form, copy of the Official rate.

This is the latest one I found off the government site.

Unfortunately that site hasn't been updated since 2007.

I've checked my latest bill against cecil2805's information and it appears to be a few bht different. It's only bht 7 in my case but the previous tariffs always calculated exactly to the satang.
