Hello there, please could somebody tell me if it is possible to get from Trat to Nan province under the conditions that the country is facing. Will I/the car make it safe? I have checked the national media but have no specifics on the journey. Any and all info would be great. Cheers Steps

Yes -

Stay far away from Bangkok

Head up tp Yesothon, over to Khon Kean and from there over and up

Last time I did it, it was a long 13 hours. With the extra traffic diverting here and there I would guess double that time

 Had a Rep Lady do Nan to Salaburi yesterday, via Phitsanulok , cant think why dear old Jeff was doing in Yeso and Khon. Perhaps hes an Irish Mc Collum. I wouldnt start from here.

That sounds promising. I may give it a go then. Anybody else have any other info regarding the journey up and down that way?

Just made the trip by Toyota 4X4 SUV yesterday (Monday the 17th) from Pattaya to North Thailand.

Can not Travel anywhere North to central Thailand from Bankgkok.

Roads and all highways are FLOODED and Impassible.

Have to go to Nakhon Nyok alternate eastern routes from Bangkok then north.

If traveling from Trat go North on Highway 317 thru Chantaburi north ot Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri to Nakhon Nyok, then north on Hwy 1 (Not the main Asia Hwy which is impassible and flooded from south of Ayutia).

Nakon Nyok to Sara Buri, Lopburi to Tak Fa and take Hwy 11 north to Phitsonalok, then to Uttradit, north to Prae then over to Nan.

For Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai take appropriate routes from Prae or Lampang.

Good luck.

Stay away from any highway going North from Bangkok and even the eastern tollway 9 that goes north from the New BKK airport. All are Closed and Flooded Impassible by car, pick up or even Big Trucks and buses.

Rubbish, you can get north.from Saraburi.and round Nakasawan. Takes a bit more time, even a Car can do it. The rest of Kimos direction is plain sailing. No doubt the Bkk Info is correct, Small pic up went back today at 3A.M. but i wouldnt go personally.

Better way and much shorter is Trat to : Chantaburi, to Sa Kaeo to Wattana Nakhon to Lahansai to Nang Rong to Buriram to Khon Kaen to Phitsanulok on to Nan. No floods in Isarn, ,
