Does anyone know if the the customs dept will be open over this emergency holiday?

It is not official yet, but our contact at the Thai Customs House told us that they will close 27 OCT - 31 OCT 2011. We have the confirmation that Thai Customs at BKK International will be closed as well and also understand that PAT Customs Station will close their doors. We are a licensed Customs Broker and Freight Forwarder.

Does that mean that no goods will be entering or leaving the country?

Does anyone know when they will make a confirmed decision. Bit like how long is a piece of string I know, but they are not answering the phones! FUBAR!

Have just called the Thai Post customer service line who told me goods will still be leaving the airport during the holiday.

As usual what he told me fills me with no confidence and I suppose we will just have to wait and see.

Does anyone know what ports are open/closed over the 5 day break???? it would help if these people answered the phone now and again.

Exports are not an issue and most of them are down anyway. You can always apply for OT and this will get your imports cleared. It is not like that no one is out there. Suvanabhumi is pretty much business as usual as we speak. Shipments

still come in and will be cleared on a case by case. Perishables, Diplo, Mail, Courier will all go trough. Contact me if you have any urgent import or export. Easy ...
