One of our guys needs to get a Non-B multi and he resides in Arizona. Does anyone know if that state comes under the jurisdiction of the Denver Consulate or the Los Angeles Consulate?

Thanks,

NL

^ Just found the new LA consulate website and they claim jurisdiction over AZ as well as CO. But there's a Consul in Denver, CO too (with a piss poor website btw). So I guess I will get him to call both of them and he can work it out.

There are no jurisdictions for consulates, you can apply in Iceland if you like.

Thanks PoorSucker for that very accurate and relevant information. I have applied for Thai visas in 3 different continents, and 13 countries...never had a problem, although they do change with people(employees) and policy.

LA is an official staffed Consulate so has a designated region of the country. Denver and most other are Honorary Consulates and can serve anyone.

Clever aren't you?

Houston used to serve everyone (including me) but I was an oilfield trash expat with a Houston home. However, the last time I applied, they took 2 days processing instead of while u wait. The Denver Consulate did ask a couple of our chaps if they were resident within their jurisdiction. They both lived in CO.

The new LA consulate website has a map defining what states fall under it's jurisdiction. Foreigners may be able to cherry pick their consulate but my applicant is a US citizen and I think he will have to call first to make sure it's not a wasted journey.

Things change!

Thanks for the input.
