Hi TV users,

looking at escaping the floods in BKK and headin to Phuket tomorrow morning. just checking the usual hotel sites at the moment, but wondered if any users had recommendations for hotels in the patong/kamala area

a friend is staying at the north end of patong bay, so dont want to be too far. have seen a good deal for a place at south end of kamala bay, but as ive never been to phuket, wondering how do-able the ride into patong would be on a motorbike daily. how many kms is it? whats the road like?

hotel should be:

not a "players" den

not popular with large groups

close to or preferably on the beach

budget 2-4k per nite

any ideas are much appreciated

Kamala a bit far and that hill is notorious for robberies at night.
