Ninety Day Check In.

Featured Replies

I went for my ninety day check in at an upcountry immigration office. The check in before this one went smoothly and I noticed that the old immigration officers were gone. I had thought that maybe they were on holiday but it appears they are indeed gone.

I had all the silly copies ready and my form filled out. I handed the package to the young man who took care of me and he handed them back to me including the form. All he wanted was my passport and the small paper from the last check in. He told me to keep the paper showing this check in with my passport for the next time.

My yearly extension is due November 17th so I will be quite interested to see how that goes. The old man (my age) who was there before nit picked everything and he was a downright pain. Even my Thai wife got irritated with him because he talked down to me. In any case, I am VERY happy to see him gone.

Maybe I should add that I NEVER bribed or gave gifts to him. My wife told me that they would be more reasonable if I would take him something every time I had to go there.

90 day check is being changed from normal TM47 to a bar code receipt that they can read/print by computer apparently to make it a faster turnaround.

I have just today done my 90 day report in Chiang Mai. I submitted the TM47 and all the photocpies of the documents they normally want. The officer did not even look at the photocopies but stlll kept them with the form. Perhaps changes are on the way but not yet reached Chiang Mai Immigration. It also looked as if there were a few new officers there but that maybe because the normal people were in another building processing the 100 or so immigrant workers that were there

That's interesting, I do my report at Jeng watatna. I was there the other day for my extension and it was taking four hours in the queue for the 90 day report.

How long can it take to record that what you told them 90 days ago is still valid or changed in a up to four particulars? It takes less time than it does to record your arrival at the airports where everyone arrives at the same time.

Anyway it is refreshing to hear that somewhere something is improved.

I will definitely be posting the next 90 day report because I hope to get my exit visa on the same day and there won't be time for both.

Touching on your point about money, I wonder if there was a charge for the service it might be done better.

Recently did mine at Udon, no photocopies just passport and previous receipt, in and out in less than 5 minutes.

I just looked at my receipt and it does have a bar code. Will wonders never cease?

Do mine by post so they can take as long as they like...laugh.gif

Thanks for the info.

Is this being implemented now?

Just did my initial on 28 September...just looked now no bar code there.

I have my next 90 day report due just after Christmas...27 December.

Will be interesting whether I get a bar code or not.

Will be at Chaeng Wattana.

:D

Believe it started in October so next time they will likely just bin your TM.47 and provide the computer printout.

I did my 90 day run on October 20th and my receipt has the bar code.

Does anyone know if the following is still valid for reporting at the Pattaya (Chonburi) Immigration Office:

90 Day Address Reporting: NEW REQUIREMENTS - Barry Kenyon announced at the August 7 meeting that Immigration Headquarters has instructed their Offices to require additional documentation to be submitted with the TM 47 - 90 day address report:

Copy of passport Face Page

Copy of latest Immigration Permission to Stay Stamp

Copy of TM Departure Card (this is the white card that should be stapled in your passport)

► Copy of a document verifying your address (lease, utility bill, telephone bill, cable bill, etc.)

Yes, those are the new requirements at Pattaya. A friend did his last week and did not have all the listed copies but was allowed to "check in " with the admonishment that next time bring it all. "New Boss " according to the employee who cut him some slack
