Flood Donations : Need Organization To Pick Up

Flood Donations ~ I'm just off Krungtep-Non rd near Wong Sawang on the border of BKK and Nonthaburi and have a large amount of clothing & sandals I'd like to donate to flood victims. 80% new items. I export to the U.S and have some stock of Clothing and leather sandals I will not be shipping out - it is 2009/10 older stock. I do not drive here so would need someone to pick it up. If anyone knows an organization that could do this I'd appreciate the contact.

Wow~ No organizations are reading Thai Visa that may want A LOT! of clothing for flood victims???? I thought this would get swiped up fast. Well, guess I'll take a trip to where we've been filling sandbags at Thanam Non today and see if any the leaders of that effort know of a local place. Problem for me is it won't fit in a taxi to take somewhere....so really looking for pickup~

Maybe there's already a thread and I missed it, but I'd be happy to find a place with an updated listing of what help can be given about the floodings.

There will unfortunately quite a lot to do for my in-laws after water is gone from their house. But right now we probably could do more.

Jaiyen, Do you have GPS coords for your location or a map?

I will be in Maha Sawat today delivering relief supplies but could possibly stop by your area after I am done if I can find it.

Thanks

Below is one of the replies received, hope it helps with who to contact and make aware of your generous offer.

SCAD Bangkok (Soi/Street Cats & Dogs of Bangkok) - KrungThai Bank Head Office and The Thai Red Cross are accepting donations of goods for distribution in flood-affected communities. However, not sure about them being able to pick up goods from donors. I'm sorry, I don't have a lot more information on this to hand, but maybe the person who posted could do a little Googling :) Hope this helps. Woof!

Im checking with portektueng (emergency service) if they can pick up, but trouble is their trucks are mostly occupied with helping people out of flooded areas. (the person who runs the unit is also in the midst of evacuating out of her house at the moment!)

can you wait until Monday?

by the way, here is their number in case you want to speak to them on details....
