Lodestone
So is all that water just supposed to flow AROUND 'inner' Bangkok?
bkkjames
Correct-two points.
robblok
They are praying it does.. But to be honest i doubt it. Water has come far already and will go even further. Inner BKK will get its share. It all depends on elevation and the longer they postpone it the more likely it is to coincide with high tide. That would be real bad. smokie36
Correct-two points. Three points for a win James. I'd have thought you knew that!

Lodestone
The flood situation at the Bang Chan Industrial Estate has stabilized... a line of sandbag flood wall has been laid behind the complex for protection against the rising Saen Saeb Canal. At the same time, water pumps are running around the clock to drain seeping floodwater into the canal. http://www.thaivisa....ost__p__4831946 So the canal that borders 'inner' Bangkok is now rising and more floodwater is being added to it in order to protect the Bang Chan Industrial Estate. Apparently protecting this IE (and potentially contributing to the flooding of the remainder of Bangkok) is now being made a major test of the government being able to show the foreign factory owners they have some ability to manage the flood. Latindancer
To state the obvious, it looks like all the water is set to flow down through Bangkok West of the river. The East is slightly higher, so should not be too badly affected.........I hope. Edited November 8, 2011 by Latindancer

robblok
Imagine if it reaches the night-zones of Sukhumvit, the boozer-brigade will be up in arms Would be fun to hear them moan about not being able to go to bars. Might be good to teach the inner bkk ppl a lesson of what others have endured. There are some who use the lesson, but not at the cost of all the others. Sukhumvit will stay dry, unless of course somebody spill his drink. The show must go on. By all means, please keep reporting from the front line, it is all good reading....:jap:
