Kabobs, Shwarmas Gyros

Featured Replies

Why are the shwarmas, kabobs and gyros always made out of chicken in thailand, dry and salty. :bah:

And why is the pita bread always more like a tortilla than anything else, seems more like a burrito. Even using pork would be a big step up, or even using sour cream or yogurt instead of that while mystery sauce that taste more like water.

Whats so hard about getting it right? Or are they just being cheap?

Probably because Kebabs and whatever those other things are that you mention come from Muslim countries, they would normally be chicken, lamb or goat, the last two being in short supply in Thailand. Asking for a pork kebab is like asking for a kosher pork pie.

Location location please James...jap.gif

Some street kebab places have beef, but yeah most only have chicken. Many Thais don't eat beef or lamb and Muslims don't eat pork so chicken is the only thing everyone can eat.

Souvlaki on silom soi 4, opposite spanish on 4, olive cafe in emporium and they have another one on suk near villa near soi 33. They might have more locations.
