Indonesian men top the list when it comes to frequency of sexual intercourse, according to a survey conducted among sexually active people in 10 Asian territories.

Conducted by Pfizer, the latest "Ideal Sex in Asia Survey" found Indonesian men had sex 9.8 times each month on average. Coming in second were Filipino men, who had sex 9.4 times a month, while Indian men averaged 8.8 times each month.

As for Thai men, they had sex about 7.7 times in one month.

The findings of the survey were released at a Bangkok hotel yesterday. The survey covered 1,658 men and 1,624 women in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. All respondents were between 31 and 74 years old, and had sexual intercourse in the past 12 months.

As for female respondents, Indian women reported the highest frequency of sexual intercourse at 8.7 times each month on average. Coming in next were Indonesian and Malaysian women, both having sex about 6.8 times in a month.

Thai women had sex just 5.7 times in one month, according to the survey.

Assoc Prof Dr George Lee, consultant urological surgeon at Monash University in Kuala Lumpur, said the survey found erection hardness remained a key factor for sex satisfaction among most Asians.

"For example, up to 90 per cent of Malaysian men have listed this factor as important," he said.

Only one third of the respondents felt that sexual intercourse duration as an important factor when it came to satisfaction.

Asst Prof Dr Pansak Sugkraroek, a well known sexual health expert and obgyn doctor in Thailand, said it was estimated that some 2.7 million Thai men had erectile dysfunction (ED).

"Only 27,000 have come forward to seek treatment though," he said.

Pansak said apart from medicines, the change in lifestyle could also help combat against ED.

"Regular exercise and healthy food are also recommended," he said

The Nation are really struggling for copy arent they ?, now the floods are just about over, our man in dubai looks like he is staying in Dubai and they have caught the culprits who nicked the bribery money....

Notice there has been no survey on member size in this article...and they have not considered the number of times the average Pattaya tourist plays hide the sausage either, but guessing the average 2 week millions stums Pattaya's finest more than 7.7 times in the two weeks they are there...

Thai men are having sex on average about 7.7 times a month, while time women are averaging 5.7 times a month. So the men must be doing it with one another at least twice a month?

And just like a pharmaceutical company to use a "survey" as a tool to publicise ED, which can of course be fixed with "medicines" as the good Dr. says......

They do this survey every year or so, i remember a similar one a while back...

The disparity between the Male sex frequency and the female sex frequency is probably due to the fact they surveyed some gay men, perhaps?

But not the gay women?

Perhaps guys just like to boast more..

It seems that men, in general, are having sex more than women. Maybe they should include pets in their next survey.

Or women here suffer from "Clinton-ism", i.e. they don't know exactly what is "sex" and what is not ...

Another explanation, men on average performs 2 times per month while their partner is asleep !

So, Thai men have sex 7.7 times per month, but later in the article it says Thai women have sex 5.7 times per month.

So are Thai men doing it 2 times per month with other men or pets or the furniture or what?

Indeed. Some of them just ignore their sexuality and become monks.....:jap:

Hmmmm I suspect most of this third were not sporting a Y chromosome.

This steaming pile of a study is typical big pharma "research".

I am sure most cattle pharmas would come up with the same result.

It's obvious the men are liars. Or the women are being modest;-) !!!! What I find interesting is the .7 of the results. Was that coitus iterruptus, i.e. did the wife, girlfriend, husband or boyfriend catch them at it with someone else?

I am not the expert in research, but the above sample size would definitely asks for error. and I laugh at Thai 7.7 times a month, how the sex industry could survive and support 3% of the GDP ( data from another research from Chulalongkorn University 3 years ago :-)

- 1,658 men, 1,624 women over 10 countries

- 166 Thai men, and 162 Thai women, that just present one night average in Ratchadapisek Road

- any significance while China and India that represent 1/3 of world population

- then why 31 years old, and why 74 years old :-)

7.7 times, likely an 60 years old Thai man :-)

Thai women had sex just 5.7 times in one month, according to the survey.

Hey, Joe, where you go last night?????? I think they should rejig the survey to include some of the less salubrious parts of town.

edit: spelling

At least they are being up front about it! A lot of articles/ research that finds its way into newspapers and journals is actually written by pharmaceutical company Ghost Writers then signed off by doctors with university affiliations.
