Two Nepali men arrested with 2 kilos of ya 'ice'

Mae Sai police in Chiang Rai Province arrested two Nepali men on suspicion of drug trafficking after a tip off led the police to their hotel room in Chiang Rai where the 2 kilograms of Ya Ice or crystal methamphetamine was found allegedly hidden in their luggage. Two Nepali women were also being held by the police.

Mr. Hem Bahaur Thiag, age 24 and Mr.Gurung Bijay, age 24, told police that they had come to Thailand looking for work as they had relatives in Bangkok. However they were unable to find work and had been hired to travel to the border to transport the drugs.

Police report that drug traffickers often target people from poorer nations who are out of work in Bangkok to transport heroin, Yabaa or methamphetamine, and Ya Ice or crystal methamphetamine.

Just how many more traffickers down the 'heirachy' the world wanted to arrest before they actually pin down the mastermind and ring leaders up the 'hierachy'.

It is like this everywhere ---- the police or DEA catch the "Mules" but never the head of the snake.

Now, the two Nepalis can relax and enjoy a long (60 years) and pleasant stay at the Chiang Rai Hilton @ Doi Hang.

Always a good question as to why broadcast an arrest and not just "turn" the bad guys. Given the results of the arrest, I would think most ppl would be willing to turn rather then book into BKK Hilton? You can't ignore a tip and stop the drugs but you can play catchup with the upper links. The usual questions of, how long have you had it, where did it come from and where is it going. Each right answer buys time, you will go to jail, it's just a matter of how long you get to play "hide the weinie".
