"Notoriously dangerous Highway 36" My Arse!

I am up and down the 36 doing 100+ on a motorbike 4 times a week. I must have done thousands of kms on that road alone in the last year, from Bang Lamung to Rayong, usually coming back in the dark and often in wet conditions. It is one of Thailand's less dangerous routes due to the lack of sideroads, lack of humungus potholes and the presence of weigh stations and highway police.

Sukhumvit is far more dangerous. You have people cutting from left to right regularly on Sukhumvit. Just this afternoon, (Thu Dec 15) I saw a large farang wiped out on Sukhumvit. He must have been around 17 stone. His little Honda Click splatted on the road, out near Wat Ban Na, almost in Laem Chabang.
