Booked a 2012 Ford Ranger XLT at the First Time Buyers Fair a few monts back.

Waiting and waiting we called the dealer. He says January 15th. is the delivery date

and "that we could only get the price on the contract if we financed part of the

purchase price." The contract clearly states "cash" and the total amount.

Signed. sealed and stated. No problem there.

I get a bit irritated to say the least and have my wife call the Ford Company hot line.

We explain the dealers comments and fax the contract to them. That night we receive

an SMS from the dealer saying "oh sorry for waisting your time, you will get everything

that is on the contract." The usual extras are listed on the contract as well including

one year class A class insurance, tints, paint treatment etc. Kudos to Ford for providing

a department to deal with these things for the customer.

Anyone can see this play, a bit more money for the dealer selling the paper to a finance company.

Now with the 15th. coming up, I am waiting for the next play. I have no confidence

in the dealer after this scam. My Thai language skill is low with no written reading skill.

I can not rely on my wife to fully understand contractual language.

I think I may need someone to go with me to the dealer on pickup day to review the

contract and make sure all is in order. Does anyone have a suggestion in the regard?

What would you in this situationp?

Your comments most appreciated ....

Well done for getting as far as you have, many others would have just walked away.clap2.gif

Your situation proves that it is possible to get what you want, all be it a little frustrating in the process.

I was kinda in the same situation as you, except I'm not paying cash and all I wanted was promotional freebies.

My wife was told point blank there's no chance of getting anything free with the Ranger Wildtrak by our dealer.

I got in contact with Ford HQ and within a day my dealer was groveling on the phone, to be honest I was ready to just go to Bangkok and deal there as I didn't really want a bad relationship with the person that's going to be servicing it for the next few years.

In the end I'm sure any dealer should understand any buyer trying to get the best deal possible, he tried to bluff, I called and I hope not too much loss of face went on.licklips.gif

I'm sure unsuspecting customers that take their dealers word as gospel are being out done as we speak, this is one thing we can be thankful for the information and experience of other users on TV.

Regarding the delivery date, I wouldn't hold my breath on the 15th as I was also told that by my dealer.

I think you'll find that's when the majority of the Rangers will be shipped out by Ford Raynong, that being said I hope it's not as late as Feb but then again who knows anything can happenWPFflags.gif

Thank you for your reply. I had your same concern about the relationship with the dealer.

We are fleeing Bangkok after 12 years for C.M. so I was not concerned. Of course, I need the truck to flee. Thanks again ....
