ChiangMai101
Have any Aus citizens had their "income letters" notarised at the Aus Consulate in Chiang Mai or must it be done at the Australian embassy in Bangkok? This is for the purpose of retirement. I understand that the format of the 'letter' is actually a statutory declaration. If so, is an appointment needed or can one just front up? What documentation do they require other than a current bank statement? Thanks
hellodolly
Don't really know about the Ozzie's I had heard it is only a part time operation here in Chiang Mai. For the bank statements you need to show it has been in there for ninety days. Not 100% sure of the time. For monthly income you need to show proof that it will continue to come in. Proof that it has come in will not do the trick. Good Luck and let us know what you find out.
Sparkles
The Australian consul in CM is purely an honorary position as I understand it.Phone no in City Life is listed as 053 492 480.
harrry
You cannot do the income letter in CM. Have to take a trip in person to Bangkok each year. No documentation except your passport and some nice pieces of paper with the King's head printed on them. About $50 from memory. You have to fill in and sign a stat dec.
