Hi I need help on commute directions from either Central Bangna or Suvarnabhumi University TO Ramkhamhaeng Road (specifically Ramkhamhaeng 73).

Maybe anyone could help me please? I want to know how to go to the Christian service at Jitt-Utthai there.

Are there vans catering the area? Because I usually ride vans from central bangna to bang pakong. However, this would be my first time going beyond that area in Bangna (I usually only travel to Central Bangkok and back).

If taxi is the only way, how long is the travel time and around how much would it cost please? I am quite scared to ride taxis on my own since I am not familiar with the area yet and most of drivers do not speak even a bit of english.

Would really appreciate your replies.Thank you in advance! smile.png

I think you'll do better with this over in the Bangkok forum.

Topic Moved.

P.S. As for taxis, if you can pronounce the name fairly well, they know what to do. If not, get a map in Thai and show them. Hopefully, you'll get one who can read. smile.png

I wouldn't be afraid of riding with them at all. Make sure they use the meter or find another one. Wifey never rode in one alone at night.

Sorry can't help with vans, but I sometimes do a similar route in a taxi. As long as it's not in rush hour it takes me 25 minutes and 100 baht to get to Ramkhamheang from Bangna, but maybe add an extra 20 baht to get to soi 73. From Bangna a taxi will drive straight up Sirinakarin then turn left onto Ramkhamheang.

It's an easy route outside of rush hours, but hit rush hour and it's a nightmare with all the roadworks along Sirinakarin.

Most busses (big ones) going up Srinagarindra rd will go to the Mall Bangkapi. You will need to get off that one stop before and then you are on Ram rd. Another bus will shoot you along there as well. Taxi would be no problem as well; just pop onto google maps, print out the place you want to get to (it will have Thai and English on it). I would advise trying to say it a few times first and then if they still do not understand then get the map out. Try first because they will then correct your pronounciation for you so you will get it right. The number part Jep Sip Hok should be about right for that. Ram Kang Hem for the road should be close enough but you will need to tinker with your accent / tones to be sure. So all together, try saying "Buy RamKangHem Jep Sip Hok, Kra pom" should do it. Also, speaking a tad of parrot thai usually is enough to avoid the round about routes.

U said suvannabhume uni? Not sure what u are referring to

But if anywhere near the airport one option would be get The airport link to ramkhamhaeng station. From there you can either get a cab or most buses going down ramkhamhaeng road

Another option if you see bus number 207 (pink colour non air con bus) that should also take you to ramkhamhaeng road. Just have to figure which side of the road to catch it to head inwards rather than outwards :)

Someone asked about ram 1. This is not the same as Rama I road (which is the part of sukhumvit road from ploenchit to national stadium)

Ram 1 refers to ramkhamhaeng university. They have 2 campuses. The older (1 or hnung) is on ramkhamhaeng road. People now refer to it as ram hnung to distinguish between two campuses
