Refrigerators In Thailand

Featured Replies

Two questions about refrigerators on sale in Thailand.

Do they sell refrigerators that open from the right hand side?

Do they sell upside down refrigerators in Thailand (frezzer on the bottom)?

I guess if they do, a lot of the members will start to slag off how stupid this country is.

;-)

Joke aside, i have not seen it anywhere.

Yes they do, Tesco have a Panasonic like that. I'm just looking at the weekly flyer from Tesco and there is one model on sale. Guess they have more options in the store.

Yes they have freezers at the bottom. Most refrigerators the doors are reversible.

Thanks guys I will check Resco and I looked at the door hinge mountings it didn't look like the were interchangeable left to right.

Freezer below is quite common now but I have not seen reversible doors on current models (but there may well be some).

BTW. it's Tesco. sorry.gif

frustratingly neither have I, bottom freezer gaining popularity though.

Doors sometimes need extra parts (like a different handle or hinge) to change them from one side to the other. They shouldn't be too hard to get from the manufacturer.

Not in Thailand they're not. I've seen a few. Last one was at Boonthavorn.

This was discussed a while back... See post #16.

My refrigerator opened on the left, with the freezer on top. I just turned the whole thing upside down.

Now it open's on the right and the freezer in on the bottom. It's that simple folks. burp.gif

I’ve seen those Panasonic fridges with the freezer at the bottom at Tesco, Big C and HomePro, there are 3 or 4 different sizes to choose from and pricing seems to range from about 12K for the smaller ones, up to around 22K for the largest.

They all have their hinges on the right though.

Looks like they have smaller ones at Tesco starting at 8K right now.

Yes, that's the one.

How about beverage coolers, nice enough to have in living room or outdoor patio. Anyone know where to get in Thailand ?

Wherever you get it from, make sure you ground it properly so you don't end up in the news.

How is fridge with glass door different to any other fridge you have in your kitchen or any other appliance for that matter ?

But back to topic, anyone know where i could get one. Have not found anything on malls, home pro, boontaworn etc....

Think I’ve seen those drink fridges at Macro, but don’t hold me to it.

Will most likely do a Macro run tomorrow, so I’ll keep an eye out for them.

As for Semper’s comment about grounding it properly, there is a tread in this subforum about a Brit that got killed grabbing a bottle of water out of a fridge.

Where in Boonthavorn?

I have sent an email to Panasonic addressing this question and I notice that is where there (Panasonic) factory/head office is located.

I have a large Whirlpool that I bought at Homepro a few years ago. THe handles are made as part of the asthetics of the doors and it came with a kit of hinges so that the doors could be mounted left or right.

Get the type with double doors and have the best of both worlds.

Any relief is nice on those hot summer days. Have you tried sitting in a bucket of ice?

Or have your wife to get what you want from the fridge.

Went to Makro today and these were the two “smallest” I could see there.

Depending on where you reside, Makro has a bit different selection. I’m currently upcountry so this was at Makro Surin.

I still think I’ve seen a smaller size in Pattaya, close to the one in your picture, but not sure… unsure.png
