Iran sentences alleged U.S. spy to death

Iran is well known for setting up innocent people to make a political point. There is no evidence that this poor guy is not one of them.

The evidence suggests otherwise.

The evidence proves that the three hikers were convicted of spying. Whether they were tortured, or not is not the point. They were set up to make a political point.

The 2 men were also convicted of entering the country illegally which called for a 3 year sentence.

...and they were released when bail in the amount of $500,000 each was paid to the government of Iran. It was all about the money then and it is likely the same situation here.

What 'evidence' do you refer to? Only 2 were convicted of spying.

Three were arrested for political reasons. Two were convicted of spying and all three paid a ransom bail to get out of the country - another example of Iranian "justice".

Israeli agents posed as CIA to recruit terrorists

" The buddy-buddy relationship between American and Israel could falter as it is revealed that Mossad intelligence officers posed as CIA agents in order to recruit and train Iranian terrorists, all unbeknown to US authorities."

Of course your Russian, blatantly pro-Iranian/anti-American source is so incredibly credible. The virulently antisemitic cheerleading comments in response on the page add to the flavor.

You do realise you choose to live in a country that practices the same type of justice.

How is that different to any other country. If you have the funds to post bail then you will be let out. That's just standard practice in any country.

Yeah, sure. Iran is just like the justice system in Western democracies. Thanks for straightening me out. cheesy.gif

Yet another remark with no back up. Please provide a link indicating countries that do not allow bail.

Most countries do not allow their governments to RANSOM innocent people and that is what happened in Iran. rolleyes.gif

That is not what you said. You said they paid bail. Please list countries that do not allow payment for bail.

Perhaps you should be asking for a list of countries that allow you to flee the jurisdiction to a country with no extradition back after you pay bail.

That's my point, it wasn't bail. Bail is for after arrest but before sentencing. They were already sentenced so it cannot be bail.

The girl was allowed out on bail, allowed to leave the country and was told she need not return to face trial.

Seems fair to me.
