Posted this in real estate but not many takers.

This plan has been hatched and shelved many times now and now seems to be rehatched again.

This would take the land going through site of Jim Thompsons house (err yes I know, only one of Bangkoks major tourist attractions) and Siam Paragon and around there. If ever there was a plan hatched by a brainless group of wallies, this has to be it.

Of interest to me as I have a place right behind Jim Thompson's house.

This is Manager Online... a pretty biased newspaper that would report anything as long as it makes the Reds and Puea Thai look bad. In this case, it seems they are trying to play on the line "Yingluck is encroaching on Royal Land to build an Highway".

So I'd be very cautious about the veracity of all this.

I suggest you to write a letter to one of the english newspaper of Thailand asking for anyone who has reliable information about that. You might get lucky

Not anything in English, but there were some articles in Matichon which is fairly reliable.

I think its about 25 yrs this has been going on & off.

as the JT house was also assembled from various other previous thai wooden houses, it could quite easily be moved elsewhere, maybe even a more accessible place for the great nr of tourists-with more walls and fences and entry gates around it-to prvide even more jobs for money-hungry sellers. The location as such is not that memorable-in the eyes of most Thai who have already been moved out of their dwellings bbefore due to whateever the govmt of that time thought fit to build.
