no nigerians mentioned

Or for that matter no policemen mentioned either.

Another misleading headline only 244 were known dealers and 157 suspected.

Why was the 244 known dealers still on he street?

The yellow team has had years to pin that one on Thaksin.

Why didn't they investigate I wonder?

?They did. Abhisit ordered a investigation - no conclusion has been made despite abhisits claim that it could lead to Thaksin being tried by the ICC.

"After seeing Alongkorn's swollen and bruised face during a visit yesterday, his father Prapan told reporters that he hoped police officers would not hurt his son again because he had, after all, been arrested, had confessed to his crimes and was cooperating."

In other countries this would be torture and police brutality. Proof obtained by using tortue is not valid in court (except in Guantanamo).

One doesn't know the circumstances of the arrest. There are possible explanations, such as the suspect attempted to escape or perhaps attacked the police.. Do you think most suspects go quietly? Here's an example of 2 narcotics officers being shot during an arrest.

Need another example? This week drug trafficers trying to flee struck and killed a police Captain partially dragging his body under their vehicle.

It's easy to claim police brutality, but until you have seen some of the scum that are arrested, and what they do, one doesn't really understand.

Something called insufficient evidence to secure a conviction, or bail. You don't think the authorities have an idea of who the drug dealers are in most communities? They can't all be locked up otherwise people like you would start whining, only this time about the poor dears civil rights.

Of course they do. Every time they look in the mirror that knowledge is reinforced. The criminals are them.

These are all local areas where I live. It gives an insight into the kind of community I am surround by. Next time a young guy zooms past me madly on a motorbike I can say to myself: that guy is high on drugs rather than just being crazy on a bike.

OK

cops are corrupt......all of them.....not these ones!

Accidently ever had experience with a druginfected neighborhood?

OK

Its not a western costum to parade suspects around...so isn't dancing naked on a bar table.

does every Thai women dance naked on a bar table?

the point i am trying to make is that commenting in order to ventilate frustration is ok with me

but in making fools of serious policing by honest cops on a regular basis .....not.

Is it because life is a joke in Thailand that so many foreigners stay here???? or is it because so many foreigners make a joke of Thailand the reason of visa runs just to STAY in he Kingdom??

Foreigners do not have to make a joke about corruption or the BIB in Thailand. Thailand does an excellent job of doing that themselves. Wake up sleepy one. The whole world laughs at Thailand.

1.In the third case, police, following a tipoff from air courier DHL, uncovered 490 grams of raw opium, which could be made into heroin worth millions of baht, hidden in the soles of six women's shoes contained in a package that DHL picked up from an office in the Rama IV area. NO ARRESTS.

2.a drug bust in Pathum Thani last November in which 576,000 ya ba (speed) tablets and seven kilograms of crystal meth were seized. Police were checking to see if any state officials or politicians were involved. Surprisingly, NO ARRESTS.

3.Searching the pickup, police found 2.61 million methamphetamine pills and 102 kilogramme of ice which have street value of more than Bt1 billion.

Police were search the area and planned to use a helicopter to find the suspects.

The suspects were believed to be members of a major drug syndicate which transfered drugs from Myanmar and Laos before bringing the drugs to Thailand via the connected route between Uttaradit and Phitsanulok to avoid police NO ARRESTS.

4.212 KG of 'Ice' found at a Bangkok bus terminal. NO ARRESTS.

Police and soldiers seized 390,000 'ya ba' tablets worth up to Bt80 million in Fang district on Friday.

However, the suspects escaped NO ARESTS

How many times have they intercepted large amounts of drugs and instead of tagging them and following them to the Thais that ordered them, they just arrested them at the airport. wouldnt want to catch the real drugs distributors in Thailand now would we. cowboy.gif

"a temporary worker at Rajvithi Hospital..............had been with the hospital for 14 years"

cheesy.gif

The translation sums up the problem witht the english language articles posted in TVF. The translations or inappropriate words and terms convey an incorrect meaning. In this case, what is mean is that the person was a part time worker, i.e. not a full time employee. Thais often muddle the terms of temps and part timers. Sorry to be a drip here.

Your arguments sound like the justifying of Mr Bush and Mr Rumsfeld of the "War on Terror". And today we all know how successful this war was. Who decide that what happened to Alonkorn was justified and in line with the law? AFAIK even here suspects are not guilty until proven guilty in a court.

You are maintaining that they had no evidence one day and the next day they had enough to arrest 244 known traffickers.

Must have been one busy night for them.

Do you have a reason for police and army people not being caught in the round up.

Sounds like a white wash to me.

Wholeheartedly agree with you arresting a druggy can be dangerous.

fair enough but you are missing the point. we all know what organisation controls the distribution and supply of narcotics in this country. what we are seeing now is window dressing for the public. arresting small dealers and suppliers is pointless. they are like weeds. cut off their heads and another one pops up. the police need to find the source, the importers/exporters, the distributors. easy to do. just line up the bib and put a mirror in front of them. then let them chase themselves round in circles. much like they are doing now. cowboy.gif
