My cousin and I, both from Canada, will be travelling in Thailand for a bit less than 60 days in June and July of this year. For the first few weeks, we will each be volunteering at different places. She'll be with a registered charity, but I won't be (I'm just helping out on someone's farm). What will the visa requirements be for each of us? Where do we get them from? Thanks

You yourself are not allowed to work, which includes volunteering without a work permit, which i doubt you will get for volunteering to do work on a farm. Either you don't volunteer and go on a tourist visa of 60 days or you work illegally.

She needs a letter from the charity, confirming she will volunteer for them and can get a non-O visa based on that, good for an entry of 90 days. She wil also need a work permit from the labour office before she is allowed to volunteer.

Under Thai Law foreigners are prohibited to engage in Manual work and Agriculture.
