I wish to live & become a model in Thailand after I graduate. Only due to the amount of attention I'm receiving & the looks & questions I'm getting as well as never ending compliments from many people about my looks. I'de go into further depth but I would be writing a book if I did. I'm half Thai & half Italian if that helps.

I'de like to know how I would go about finding a Job in the modeling industry, the requirements & salary, etc. I've tried searching it up but I've had no luck.. Yet. But if anyone could englighten me or share their experiences it would be great. Thank you.

Whatever they offered you in Italy, you should expect 20% of the Italian offer here in Thailand. smile.png

I can't speak for Thailand, but in Canada, most of the attractive people who end up modeling start work in the film industry as WORKERS. They handle technical stuff and if they are smart then someone will notice them. Pretty people are a dime a dozen. They need something extra to make them stand out. Being Thai-Italian is a great combination for looks, but it takes something more to make you stand out amongst others of equal beauty... either male or female.

Models start by being 'models' that aspire to be in the film industry not the other way round.

Italy would be easier with an Asian/farang look rather than here, too many already just by looking at Thai TV and ad's (my 2 Bahtsworth).

I live in Australia not Italy & I will post pics eventually. But I'll take your book offer.

Is it normal for farang to experience the following-

Randoms getting photos with you

Random girls hugging & kissing you

Resteruant waitresses pointing and smiling

Everywhere you go everyone takes second looks

Getting compliments on aesthetics

When I was in pattaya, I could not move around freely at night, I had girls screaming at me from the bars, coming to hug me and not letting me go, I went to sit at a bar & the girls that were picking up the British guys across from me left them to come and greet me with the other girls. During my stay there I did not see any other farang who were in my shoes. The girls.. Or ladyboys.. went the extra mile just to get my attention. Lor was every 2nd word I heard.. When I was having dinner, the girl across from me was with her husband & she called the waitress to tell me I'm looking.. I went to get a massage and the girls were fighting over who wanted to do it..

It seems like I'm already famous.. But it did get annoying as I was with family and being constantly all the time held them back. Chapter one complete :)

Next time, leave your wallet in your back pocket, NOT on the bar as in the USA, eh. cowboy.gif

I agree. Looks aren't everything, you need a little bit of flavor. Good looks & Intelligence! Serenading the Thai people with my nonchalant albeit articulacy as they admire such heavenly bestowed aesthetics with a personality that radiates with an indefatigable cadence. Oh so eloquent.

The main question is are you gay ? or at least bi ?

In this industry, everybody is gay. If you want your place under the spot lights, you will have to accept to do some favors to the people who can help you.

And you say you want to start after graduating when all successful models start in their early teens. You're already old for this job, so definitively big favors will be needed.

I never flash my wallet in Thai bars Sam, you should take your own advice smile.png

Why should l take my own advice ? I am English and have spent a lot of time in the USA, seen how how guys do their thing there, try it in LOS and biiiiiiiiiiiiiig problem. cowboy.gif

Jurgen, no I am not gay & no not every single person in the industry is gay, although the majority are. What kind of favours? Rambunctious afternoons of bareskinned equestrian riding with the directors or agents? Not my thing. The modeling industry doesnt thrive on sexuality.

I'm under the age of 20 but I want to keep my age confidential for now, after I graduate from school is what I ment.

Yes Sam I've seen it all. If you have money everyone want to know you, if you have no money no one wants to know you :) Rather than looking at what's inside my wallet, they're attention is drawn to my aesthetics :)

Assuming that this is for real and not a wind up:-

1) Learn some humility. Until you have made it into the supermodel league your current attitude will get you rejected at every turn.

2) Find an agency that will take you on, prepare a portfolio for you and attempt to get bookings for you; Google 'Thai model agencies.' But beware, there are a lot of sharks out there who will take your money but do nothing.

3) Remember that for every model who gets any work at all there are thousands who never get any. For every model who makes it to the big leagues there are tens of thousands who don't.

I've had waitresses pointing and laughing, does that count?

Thank you 7by7. I was looking for your type of advice. No, don't get me wrong, the attitude displayed online is definetely not my character in real life.

Mussen, they're pointing and 'laughing' at you.. So no it does not count.

Didn't think so. Anyway good luck with it all, always jealous of the model lifestyle, cushy job, make a ton of cash, and beating chicks off with a stick.

Care to be more specific?

I think this is a wind up and you are trying to egg on posters to break Thai visa rules with their replies and especially with a user name of Halfcast, haven`t heard that racist term for years.

Sorry, but you don`t sound like a naive teenager to me. What sort of answers are you expecting?

If this is real, do you live in Thailand? Are you a Thai national? How old are you exactly? Can you legally work in Thailand?

My stepson got into modeling when he was a younster, but it faded out when he got into his late teens, he got into it through agencies in bangkok and did all types of modelling, coke adds, music videos etc. a tough business with lots competition, never to pass an opportunity here is one music clip of him with a girl duo - http://www.youtube.c...v=2YPlCy28L4s#!

he is the first boy seen

Sounds like a typical pattaya experience. Why would you go to pattaya as a teenager? I hope you at least visited the sanctuary of truth.

No I don't live in thailand nor am I a national. Yes I can legally work in Thailand but not required to at this age. I do not wish to post any personal information on a public forum. My user name is more pun that racial as it's a faded out offensive remark.

Thanks for that Steve :) Modeling can never be permanent unfortunately, all though it is a good way to earn the extra cash and a bit of rep.

Isaan, I was not traveling alone, I'm with family of course and if your wondering why I would be near bars, my father wanted to end the day with a beer before we headed back to our hotel. I'm not only getting this attention in Pattaya.. Bangkok & my mothers village are the same, just not as extreme as the behavior in Pattaya(thank god)

No, we didn't get to see the sanctuary :( We substituted it for the floating markets.. Biggest mistake, but it wasn't up to me.

When i walked through each soi, i did not see the farang walking infront of me get kissed, hugged, & screamed at. Maybe it is typical but consider my experience an amplified version of it.

Right now I should be concentrating on my education but I guess it's good to have a bit of background information on the issue.

Thanks for your contributions so far :)
