deejah Posted January 27, 2012 Share Posted January 27, 2012 a gold crown from the states is gold looks like gold and contains mostly gold what is up here there is diff 'gold' content percentage different tier pricing, at least least three and the crowns are really made of porcelain not gold they dont look like gold and niether does the internal metalic part that is supose to contain gold and all three look alike should one even bother with 'gold' and just go with porcelain advantages and disadvantages? how can i understand this sort it out and make the best descions? thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
maxme Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 as far as i know there are 3 kinds of gold alloy used in crown , low quality, medium and high quality ( 80 % gold something). The more gold, the less corrosion of the crown. That means your crown will fit longer. They put porcelain on top of the gold to make it look natural.
