Police and Volunteers arrested following Jomtien Corruption case

PATTAYA: -- Following the case of Police Corruption in Na-Jomtien involving a drug suspect who was allegedly offered a deal in exchange for Police forgetting about the case,

Police Colonel Gietipong, the Chief of Na-Jomtien Police confirmed the arrest of two Police Officers and Two Police Volunteers who are alleged to have asked for 5,000 Baht in cash from the drug suspect in exchange for his release. Police Captain Somporn and Police Senior Sergeant Major Wirapon, both Traffic Police Officers, have been granted bail pending court proceedings.

The two Police Volunteers, Khun Nipon and Khun Boonleu were considered a “flight risk” and are currently being held on remand pending their Court appearances.
