tips on spray job

the tank stickers are matt, so should go on after base color, but before clear coat. make sure to get them in original position, or they look silly

other stickers on plastic parts are shiny, and goes on after clearcoat

ANUPHAS in Kathu, next to Shell station gets it right, and knows the Aurora blue color as they are Ford/mazda/honda car main body shop

on a slightly tangential subject. have you seem how many people are pimping their PCXs? i saw an orange one yesterday at villa/pro with awesom mag wheels and the whole kit. i bet its some serious cash to pimp your ride like that.

If you think the ER6n engine noise is not good don't bother driving the Ducati 795 it is awful and much much worse than the ER6n!! I find Teera shop very good and very helpful the girl can not do enough for me, I think I will go for the Akaprovic as they say it is not noisy, maybe you know different, there are so many extras for the ER6n it is mind boggling and could turn out to be very expensive!!

I have pimped my PCX with Over exhaust and modded variator, 30% more power up the hills and much better acceleration, supposedly higher top speed to, but I never ride twist&go above 80kmh due to their poor brakes and tyres (in comparison with Ninja)

feel free to drop by me in Kata to hear the Akropovic. Its not hooligan loud as 2 bros, but without db killer its loud.

It provides a significant increase in power at 6-9k rpm, but only 3-4hp at 11k rpm

Thanks for the offer katabeachbum, I have now seen the Arrow exhaust system and prefer this to the others, any experience with the noise of this exhaust? they say it is not loud but a nice sound, again 36,000 bht looked at the UK website the price there is just short of £600 so 36,000 bht would appear to be a decent price.

used to have arrow, its between 2 bros and Akropovic in noise. both arrow and 2 bros are extremely thin and light, thus adding their own sound to engine exhaust due to its flexing can housing.

I have defo become an Akropovic fan with its deeper rumbling non screaming sound

Really? I always thought the big v-twins sounded great, especially the old school 948 etc... is this not the case any more?

I chalked up the horrid engine sound on the kwacka being due to the strange parallel twin arrangement?

I hope my Two Bro's is too noisy...

Cheers so the Akrapovic is a sound that would not pee you off after a few kms whereas the others might, Walker whats wrong with the existing tires, how fast do you intend going?

Does anybody know where to buy decent rubber?

if you want anything better, its Pirelli. MCW/Triumph in town, but your probably better off ordering them from BKK and have kwaker take rims off, Manit Center Max mount and balance and kwaker install again. 13-16k baht

stock rubber aint that bad

2 bros is hooligan, and surprising no flames coming out of it

all new bikes suffer from max 85db and superquiet exhaust due to Th extreme emission requirements

used to have a 1800cc v-twin with stock cat, not loud but moved so much air it was vibrating

I am 6'4" so for me the Ducati was awful, I felt my crutch was being pushed into the tank and the handlebars are to low which made my wrists hurt after only a few kms, the Ducati was very similar in engine noise but more so, for me the ER6n is a far superior bike and 150,000 bht cheaper!! I owned the 2011 ER6n and it was great but this new bike looks sooooo much better!!

Honda dealer installed on day of bike delivery, 100 baht for full exhaust system, 200 for variator

got the Over used from BKK at 5k baht, Bike forums sponsor Sumet cycle supply the variators at 2k baht to your door

Th emission requirements? I was told you don't even need a cat here!!

Thailand has had the worlds stringest emission requirements for 6-7 years. California and Euro IV has just caught up, and thus made it simpler here. For years its been no way to get legally plated US (except Calif) or Euro spec bikes in TH

Remember the zx10r 2007-2008 we looked at? sold legally in Th its approx 130hp due to emission, down from 170hp. Its got a unique TH ECU to manage

dtracker 250 cant be reved over 8k rpm in 4-6th gear in Th, due to Th emission

There is a mod for the rear which gets rid of the big rear number plate assembly and is replaced by a very small number plate, is this illegal?

as long as you still have a reflex and use stock indicators

and if you do not, no one cares, not even DLT on inspection

used to have some diode indicators on above bracket, but they where not very visible, so on this bike stock indicators

Edit Missed the part about smaller numberplate. It is illegal to modify plate, but as long as the seal in lower right corner is still intact it is usually ignored. A smaller or copy number plate is illegal and punished with up to 5 years in jail

Are these aftermarket exhausts legal here? if not I will not be getting..

Illegal, but accepted even by DLT

it is also illegal to smoke cigarettes in Th at any venue covered by a roof, fine 2.000 baht, and the fine for throwing a butt on the ground is 2.000 baht. Both enforced more frequently than motocy modsgiggle.gif

This okay or not?

I would have thought the regs would only cover the size of the number plate/letters and possibly indicator size......

I know in the UK the rule is if indicators are fitted they must work, but nothing covering size

As long as your number plate is legal im sure you'll be fine
