Anyone know of any DECENT website designers in Phuket?. Ive been trying to get my site upgraded for months. All I get is people that are too busy to do a job like mine....because its a small job.

Why not do it yourself? I completely remade my website using Dreamweaver, anybody who has basic computer knowledge and sufficient command of English can do it. The result will be a website which looks fairly professional.

I did do it myself with Joomla atyle program. I just need help tweaking it and making it look more proffessional, plus put google analytics on it

If you create an account with google analytic's then their help section will walk you through how to add it to your site, it's pretty simple, also if you know what your trying to achieve but don't know how to go about doing it, try googling that specific idea and chance's are you can find the html code or something you can d/l and add it yourself.....

I do drupal CMS, but not Joomla.

If you want a static website with no news / event sections which naturally require constant updates, then the website is ok to even with dreamwaver. But if you wish to have 'live' site, then CMS is the way to go. However CMS sites need care on the backend as well to keep the system and modules up to date security.

Adding Google analytics should be easy to install with an module.

Crete an analytics account and insert the analytics id to the module.

Hi Snamos,

Really depends on the sophistication and function/purpose of your site.

Some are recommending CMS, which I wouldn't disagree with. I have developed regular web sites, Joomla sites, and Moodle sites. For simplicity (and great SEO performers) you could do worse than look at Wordpress - I have developed many WP blogs/sites of varying complexity - dead easy to maintain and very 'Google' friendly with the right plug-ins.

I would say that there is two ways how not to do what an customer wants. One is simply ignore the wishes, which is naturally not good.

The other way is to convince the customer that the request they made is not good for them. For example if a customer wishes to have all kind of flash animations, which may look nice for the first time, but are really pain in the .... after few times of visiting the site, I would not allow my customers to use those. If they still insist of having those, I can recommend another company to setup and take care of their website.

Furthermore there is many other things to consider when creating an website. Service provider, location of the server compared to the expected customer base, understanding the underlying operating system etc. etc. and naturally understand the business of the customer and turn that in to functional service.

Well Ive come to the conclusion that it is impossible to get a website designed in Phuket, I have heard that there is web designers here but they dont seem to actually design websites or accept money, I'll be spending my money in India

Plenty of websites to outsource the work. If you need a basic bare bones wordpress and theme installed, you can get it done for $5.00 fiverr.com. All work over at the site has a lot of people willing to do a lot of stuff for $5.00.

Database design? How many pages? Shopping carts? Forms? Your own domain or want to use a subdomain? Is maintenance needed or you can update the site yourself?

All of these issues need answered. I have been doing sites for years and have a portfolio.

I am shocked that the three contenders you had did not come through. Interested to know why.

Your stating above that you tried to call me...how is that so when you had no battery?....a serious internet website guru would never be without a smartphone, couldnt you have lobbed your SIM into another phone? How hard is it to walk less than 3 minutes around to the next bar and say your phone is screwed? I then blocked your number, because you wasted my time and honestly I dont want to hear excuses....Ive got cash and I want to spend it..... If you cant make it to the first appointment then really its a case of 'first impressions last'....
