onthemoon
A friend of mine has a company in Europe and wants to open a rep office, rather than a Co., Ltd. in Thailand. Where found I find the requirements? One work permit for a European national will be needed. - Paperwork - Minimum investment (same as Co., Ltd.?) - Minimum staff (same as Co., Ltd.?) Has anybody done this yet? How long does it actually take?
puipuitom
In fact the only reason you set this up is having a work permit ? I learnt there is no reason at all to have a "pied-a-terre" = a foothole in TH. I import food products from TH to EU since 1994. To have a Thai inspecting all, that's another story. Maybe you are working for your own company. This is about an employee, who will insist on being legal and not doing shady visa runs. He will work, so he insist on the company to provide a work permit, and the company asks him how do do this. 100% legality is a must, so a 51% Thai straw-person in a Co.,Ltd. is not an option. Do you have a better suggestion?
