Facebook Partly The Cause Of Unwanted Thai Teen Pregnancies: NESDB

Featured Replies

Well, by these standards, other things which are instrumental in teen pregnancies are: transport systems, public and private; schools; homes; beds; phones, both landlines and mobiles; internet cafes; restaurants; coffee shops; public areas of all kinds; private areas of all kinds; males. We should restrict them all.

A more helpful announcement which is not so wag-the-dog would be one which exorted parents to keep a watchful eye on their children, assuming that both parents don't have jobs with long hours, as they often do. In that case, perhaps an announcement which somehow makes economic conditions possible in which one parent is able to stay AT HOME and WATCH THE CHILDREN would be helpful.

But it's probably cheaper to blame Facebook.

Is this what that button on Facebook means, the one that says 'give them a poke', I have wondered about that for ages. Mr Zuckerberg, turn it off...now!

Thailand is in a transition from a patriarchal context to a society where people become self-aware. Unfortunately those high up there in the administration cannot avoid the patriarchal tendency of perceiving the population as "innocent" and as "victims of foreign systems".

People who are in positions of responsibility should be more imaginative and avoid lapsing into obsolete speech.

Totally agree with you.

Sadly, they don't even realize their speech and concepts are obsolete.

THAT is more of the problem the country faces,

than a natural occurring rate of pregnancies out of wedlock.

NESDB "Warning" to all Thai Teenagers, please use sex protection when using Facebook! However, Masturbating is an acceptable substitute, but only in designated areas. tongue.pngermm.gif

And use of alcohol is restricted to certain hours.

Rubbing alcohol is fine 24/7, but coconut oil causes less chaffing.

Chastity belts with PTP Approved markings will be issued to all children over breeding age,

and not removed until marriage, regardless of sexual preferences...

No chances can be taken to let free-will survive in the Thai Paternalist Culture.
