Just to let you know what I know.....maybe I should restate that...because I don't know anything..

That place was called Beaches and most likely changed names and owners or investors because of the state that it was in. Remember they arrested the Manager out there. The actual owner would honor the deposits because he said he didn't take them...the manager did. This all ended up in court..I don't know the specifics but I do know the manager is in Jail and will be for a long time

Anyway, there is a Russian who bought 200 rai at Silver Lakes. My guess is that he decided that Beaches was a better place and is now throwing his money there. However, don't sell Silver lakes short because they are building a Venice Theme park up there. Bangsaray will explode in the next couple of years and the property prices will go up in that area. In addition to that the casino that someone mentioned is supposed to happen at Baan Ampur not Bangsaray, " The Ambassador". It was recently approved and the person I know that is directly involved in making it happen is pushing aggressively and those behind. Based on the movement in that area I believe it is going to happen this time.

The casino in the Ambassdor gets approved every time one of Thaksin's cronies is in power, but get's sidelined again each and every time they kick them out.

I thought it was the opposite and Thaksin's preferred location for the casino is on the large area of land he bought in Koh Chang.

That would be for yet another casino,Thaksin had not just one casino in mind.

There have been reports that he owns the biggest chunk if not all of the Ambassador

Wow this area is going to be fun then... with the whole family going to the water park for the day then the parents head of to the casino for the evening.

Good news for me as I bought an off plan condo there about 8 months ago :)

Sounds good to me, good luck to everyone involved, which will become good luck for anyone who choses to visit, and pay the entry price, as the management choses to offer. If they offer lower income locals a discounted price, that can't be such a bad thing. Are some people suggesting that the croc farm and other places should stop offering lower prices to Thais and local folk(whitieys included) , that they should all pay the usual tourist prices , in which case they would not be able to afford the experience of such cultural venues even while they are in thier country. Get real all you complainers; if it was same price rules at these places, the prices couldn't go down, only the low income tickets would have to go up.

I agree 100%. Us foreigners have more money and better lifestyle then Thai's They cannot afford such luxuries which means their kids don't get to enjoy it too. That is a sad way of thinking.

Let the poor Thai's also enjoy the fun and enjoyment for less cost I think. I have a Thai DL and can get the discounts but in places where it is not offered to me I make a choice: Pay the asking price or do not go in. Doesn't bother me one bit that a Thai can get in cheaper then me. Good luck to them.

You mean one of those several condo's in that area that don't get any further then the foundation?

Already past that stage
