Guys

Can someone please advise what paperwork is needed to be provided by the buyer to the seller and by the seller to the buyer and also what happens to the Car Book, it's just handed over with the keys over when the money is in the bank?

Thanks

Search the forum, plenty of info.

But in short you need to go to DLT and transfer the car over to the buyer.

Copies of passports, proof of address etc needs to be provided and transfer form to be filled out etc.

Very common here to do the deal in DLT office, pay when you get the book in your name.

Bank draft, cashier cheque can be used.

I took cash last time but did the deal in the bank and signed the paperwork only when the money was deposited in my account.

As note if selling. You can also sign power of attorney to the buyer so you don't need to go to DLT yourself. But i'd have some kind of sales contract done to prove later on the car was sold. Just in case the buyer won't transfer.
