PATTAYA:--

City workers have begun cleaning and securing the beachfront as the area prepares for the Pattaya Music Festival March 30-April 1.

Sanitation Department Director Sompop Wandee led more than 20 workers down Pattaya Beach Feb. 17 to plant cape lilies along the footpath and attempted to use bricks to protect them from likely trampling. Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome’s goal is to try to show Pattaya is an environmentally conscious city.

And I do wish him good luck in trying to hide the eroded beach, the worsening littering problem, the piles of rubbish in parts of Pratumnak and Wongamat, the tonnes of rubbish in the sea (no, it's not jellyfish) and the burning that causes air pollution. Better plant bigger trees, because the pissy little plants won't hide all the not-so-green problems facing Pattayaangry.png .

I think the only ugly part of Pattaya is West of Sukhumvit

In th UK cultivating plants for a music festival often leads to a jail sentance... tongue.png
