Specific Advice Wanted Regarding B - Applying In Uk.

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I plan to apply for 1 or 3 years multiple entry business visa based on 1.

  1. Conducting business in Thailand as an employee of a non Thai company (ie a business

based outside Thailand

I spoke with consular officer and he adviced me to bring letter from my company outlining the purpose of business visits to Thai and if possible letter from Thain business partners.

I am company director. Company is new and accounts have not been filed yet. We specialise in property development small scale and ecommerce.

I am thinking to stay in Thailand for 3 months and revisit often so, also if I like it I might stay longer - business visa seems most appropriate for me.

I have talked to some Thai friends who run small scale businesses there, such as construction business and small DIY shop. I potentially can get letter from them however they business is really small so might not be considered.

Consular officer adviced me that in my case business visa can be issued even with UK company letter alone provided its explains specifically what kind of business we seek to conduct with Thai companies.

I been thinking a) indicate we are looking for potential joint property development opportunities on small scale or indicate I an visiting factories to with aim to export something?

I think the more detailed the letter the better. What you think? Perhaps I outline industry list of companies I plan to contact?

Anything else I can do to substanciate B visa application? Maybe a letter of recommendation from the UK business assosiations I am member of?

P.S Topic meant to be Specific advice wanted regarding b visa - applying in UK. If moderator can change it it would be great :D

Your advice is very appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

No offence, but this post reads like you are just trying to find someway around the system. Looking for a loop hole or something to exploit and obtain an otherwise inappropriate visa.

If not, then good luck but remember you will still have to report to immigration office every 90 days no matter what you end up with.

Suspect you wil only get the normal 1 year multiple non-B visa, for 2 or even 3 years a lot more will be needed.

I think the most important is that you show the need to frequently do business in Thailand. A letter from a (prospective) business partner in Thailand might be helpful.

For questions, contact the cosulate in Hull.

No comment on the validity of his application, but he would not need to visit immigration every 90 days, a border run is more likely.

I am pretty sure you can conduct business, i.e. buying from or selling to a Thai company on behalf of a foreign company on a B, that's what they are for.

A visa is only a permit to stay in the country. You can get a workpermit for the work metioned above pretty quickly but it is only valid for 2 weeks.

Thanks :D

Yes it seems B visa is exactly for people who travel to Thailand on business often.

Here you go:

(2) Foreigners who wish to conduct business in Thailand must provide the following documents:

- Passport or travel document with a validity of not less than 6 months.

- Completed application form.

- Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm) photograph of the applicant taken within the past 6 months.

- Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family) for the duration of stay in Thailand

- Letter from the applicant’s company indicating the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary and purpose of visit(s) to Thailand.

- Documents showing correspondence with business partners in Thailand.

- Evidence of financial status in the case where the applicant is self-employed.

- Letter of invitation from trading or associated partners/companies in Thailand.

- Corporate documents of associated partners/companies in Thailand such as:

1) business registration and business license

2) list of shareholders

3) company profile

4) details of business operation

5) map indicating location of the company

6) balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por

Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year

7) value-added tax registration (Por Por 20)

(3) Copies of company documents must be signed by the Board of Directors or authorised managing director and affix seal of company.

(4) Additional documents may be requested as and when necessary. In the absence of a required document, applicant must provide a letter explaining the unavailability of such document. Applicant must endorse on each and every page of the submitted copies of documentation. Documents in foreign languages must be translated into Thai and should be notorised by notary organs or by the applicant’s diplomatic or consular mission.

(5) Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days. He or she may apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau and may be granted such extension for a period of one year from the date of first entry into Thailand.
